MAX | Winter A 2025 After-School Programs

Get ready for an exciting new season of MAX | Winter A programs at Moravian Academy! Students can explore their passions, build new skills, and have fun in a supportive and engaging environment. From hands-on art and creative writing to science, dance, yoga, and imaginative adventures, our after-school offerings encourage curiosity, confidence, and creativity.

Whether your child loves making art, discovering how life works under the microscope, crafting stories, or exploring movement through dance and yoga, there’s something for everyone this winter. Each class is led by talented instructors who bring enthusiasm and expertise to every session — helping students learn, grow, and make meaningful connections after the school day ends.

Important Details
  • Start: Week of Monday, November 3, 2025
  • Length: 7-week session(unless otherwise noted)
  • Time: 3:15–4:15 PM (unless otherwise noted)
  • Enrollment: Classes with fewer than three students will be canceled by Friday, October 31, 2025.
Please Note: Winter A & Winter B sessions are 7 weeks long (one week longer than standard 6-week sessions). Pricing reflects the extended schedule.

MONDAYS

Creativity Corner
Age: Grades 1 - 5

If you have the creativity bug this program is for you! This is your opportunity to use our art room materials to create those original projects you’ve been dreaming of. Each week students will be offered inspiration and guidance to help them bring their creative ideas to life.

Creative Writing
Age: Grade 3 - 5
Instructor: Sidney Case

Calling all creative minds, innovative thinkers, and young authors! Join us on Mondays for creative writing club- where stories come alive, worlds are built from your words, and your pencil is your magic wand! We will publish our writing/enter it into different publications. We will also plan to have an open-mic night to share your stories!

Greeting cards! 
Age: Grades 1 - 5

Tuesdays

In this very hands-on program students will be using a variety of creative techniques to create original greeting cards. This program will include block printing, pop up cards, collage and much more. These handmade cards make great gifts for the holiday season! I hope you can join the fun.

Kids Yoga Storytime
Age: Grades K - 4
Instructor: Larissa Noto

Join The Lovely Little Lotus in partnership with The Yoga Loft of Bethlehem for our 2nd year of Kids Yoga Storytime. Each class will explore a different theme using yoga and mindfulness through the use of books, games, music, art & more.

Dissections!
Age: Grades 4 - 8
Instructor: Tarik Haddad
$260 plus $30 materials fee
The Dissections Program will provide students with a hands-on opportunity to explore anatomy through the dissection of multiple preserved specimens. The goal is to help students compare structures across organisms, develop lab skills, and deepen their understanding of biological systems.

Please note: This program follows a special December schedule, with sessions held from 3:15–5:00 PM on December 2, 9, and 16. There are two separate dissection courses this month—one on Tuesdays and one on Wednesdays. Both follow the adjusted December schedule, allowing families the option to enroll in both if they wish.


WEDNESDAYS

Holiday Decorations!
Age: Grades 1 - 5
Instructor: Brian Elstein

Join us as we create festive decorations for the holiday season. Students will have the opportunity to learn to make a variety of decorative arts that will help transform your home into a winter wonderland!

Dissections!
Age: Grades 4 - 8

Tap Dance

Welcome to our energetic tap dance class in which students will learn basic tap steps, develop rhythm, and have fun exploring movement and music. Tap is an exciting way for your child to enhance brain development! This art form requires a unique brain-body connection through rhythm and movement, highly boosting gross motor skills and brain work that improves other learning areas like math, languages, and general academics.

FRIDAYS

Exploring Origami
Age: Grades 1 - 5
Instructor: Brian Elstein

Join us as we explore the ancient Japanese art of origami. Learn many of the Basic folds you will need to know to master the most elaborate origami designs. Guided by Mr. Elstein, students will create several folded paper toys while developing fine motor skills and craftsmanship.

Please note that the Knight School Chess Program will continue throughout the school year, with opportunities for both new and returning players to participate.

Knot Just Crochet!
Age: Grades 3 - 8

Join us for a cozy and creative crochet club designed for all skill levels! Whether you’re picking up a hook for the first time or looking to advance your basic skills, Knot Just Crochet offers a fun, supportive space to learn, practice, and connect. We’ll explore a variety of stitches, patterns, and projects, helping you build confidence one loop at a time. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and a love for handmade crafts as we stitch together friendship and skill!

Dungeons and Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons MAX is where dragons are real, math is cool, and your imagination runs wild! Create your own hero, team up with friends, battle monsters, and maybe save the world or accidentally set it on fire. No experience needed! Just bring your brain, some dice, and a love for adventure!
