Families can choose from MAX | Summer Camps and MAX | Signature Camps, which feature dynamic weeklong or multi-week adventures led by expert instructors, or MAX | Summer Term, delivering enriching academic classes that support exploration and achievement. MAX | Signature Camps

MAX | Signature Camps invite students to dive deeper into their interests and uncover new passions through unique collaborations with leading local organizations. Held both on our campuses and at off-site locations, these camps provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences for learners of all ages.

Partnering with esteemed institutions such as Lehigh University, Zoellner Center for the Arts, St. Luke’s University Health Network – Sports Medicine Group, Da Vinci Science Center, SPARK Business Academy, Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts, and Northampton Community College, MAX | Signature Camps offer unparalleled opportunities in arts, sciences, athletics, business, and more.

MAX | Summer Term

This summer, Moravian Academy’s Merle-Smith Campus will offer exclusive for-credit courses as part of the new MAX | Summer Term. These courses are available only to eligible students enrolled at Moravian Academy. Upon completion, the courses will be added to their MA transcripts and factored into their GPA.

    Mini Detectives (Spanish Immersion Program)

    Boat Building with Northampton Community College Fabrication Lab (Week 1 of 2)

    Join us for an unforgettable two-week group project where students will collaborate to design, construct, and launch two pedal boats! Guided by skilled instructor, Michael Brolly, participants will explore the basics of boat design, construction techniques, teamwork, and water safety.
     
    Students will work together to bring their ideas to life, using problem-solving and creative thinking to overcome challenges and craft functional vessels. The program wraps up with a thrilling launch day, where both boats will set sail on the beautiful Lehigh River in a celebration of teamwork and achievement.

    Students will design and build amazing creations using cardboard and recycled materials while practicing Spanish vocabulary and phrases.     Rube Goldbergs Simply Complex Machine Camp

    Join Mr. Elstein and Mr. Pomeroy for an exciting program where we’ll be creating a series of simple machines that join together into a complex creation! Inspired by Rube Goldberg, a well-known comic artist and engineer who designed overly complex machines that experiment with cause and effect, this exciting program will give participants the opportunity to create kinetic sculptural designs that encourage teamwork, experimentation and humor. In other words, we will spend an exciting week making complicated machines that do simple things!

    Moravian Academy/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Dance Workshop – Week 1

    Discover the joy of dance this summer at the Moravian Academy/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Dance Workshop, designed for both beginning/intermediate and intermediate/advanced dancers! This two-week program offers an immersive experience led by expert instructors from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Dance Department.

    Participants will explore ballet, modern, and jazz dance styles in dynamic, age-appropriate sessions. Each three-hour session is packed with rigorous technique training, creative expression, and body conditioning, providing an authentic glimpse into the life of a dancer.

This two-week program offers an immersive experience led by expert instructors from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Dance Department.
    Participants will explore ballet, modern, and jazz dance styles in dynamic, age-appropriate sessions. Each three-hour session is packed with rigorous technique training, creative expression, and body conditioning, providing an authentic glimpse into the life of a dancer.

    Explore the outer limits of your imagination (and beyond!) at Moravian Academy’s own space and aviation camp!  We’ll spend the week investigating flight and rocketry, exploring the US Space Program, participating in simulated flight training, and designing and building airplanes and rockets. We invite all future astronauts, space enthusiasts, and aviation admirers entering grades 4 to 8 to join us for this special week as we dive into the science, mystery, and majesty of Earth’s atmosphere and outer space. Lower School Science teacher Brad Pomeroy and Middle School Science teacher JoAnne Daniels attended Space Academy for Educators at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama during the summer of 2010.  Mr. Pomeroy teaches science to children in grades K-5 and Mrs. Daniels teaches middle school science, math, and robotics at Moravian Academy.  They will lead the week’s activities which will be largely based on NASA Education and Space Camp lessons. Repeat campers are always welcome!

    This healthcare-focused camp offers students a unique opportunity to learn about diverse career paths through interactive workshops, VR experiences, and guest speakers. Highlights include the Transfr VR Career Exploration Program, Cyndi, our SynDaver (synthetic human body), which features fully functional systems mimicking live tissue. Our knowledgeable staff will guide campers in understanding how the body works and how to maintain health. 
    Field Trip: Campers will visit the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion to experience healthcare practices in action and utilize Transfr’s VR career exploration and training simulations.
