Annual Fund Giving

ALL IN FOR MORAVIAN
Together, We Steward the Future.

Every student’s experience at Moravian Academy is made possible through the enthusiasm and philanthropic support of our entire community. From the classroom to the stage, the playing field to the chapel, your generosity shapes the opportunities our students enjoy each day and helps carry Moravian’s legacy forward for generations to come.

Make a Gift

This year, we invite you to go All In for Moravian by making a gift to the 2026–2027 Annual Fund. Your gift can be directed toward the area that matters most to you. Choose any of our four funds:
The Moravian Fund
Supports Moravian’s greatest needs across all programs and campuses.
The Swain Fund
Supports the faculty, students, and campus needs of the Swain Campus.
The Historic Downtown Fund
Supports student learning and experience at the Downtown Campus.
The Merle-Smith Fund
Supports academics, arts, and athletics at the Merle-Smith Campus.
WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS
Tuition covers only 84% of the cost of a Moravian Academy education. The Annual Fund plays a key role in sustaining the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring that every student benefits from the exceptional programs, faculty, and experiences that define Moravian Academy.

Every gift, of every size, makes a difference. When we all give together, we strengthen the foundation on which our students learn, grow, and thrive.

List of 3 items.

  • Gifts of Cash, Check, or Card

Making a gift to Moravian Academy is easy! You can support our students and school community through a personal check, cash, or credit/debit card (American Express, Mastercard, or Visa).
Checks should be made payable to Moravian Academy and mailed to:

    Moravian Academy
Attn: Bob Zaiser, Director of Institutional Advancement
    7 East Market Street
    Bethlehem, PA 18018

Gifts may be eligible for an income tax deduction in the year they are made. Please consult your tax advisor for guidance on your individual circumstances.
  • Gifts of Stocks or Bonds

A gift of stocks or bonds is another meaningful way to support Moravian Academy. Donating appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year may offer tax advantages, including the potential to avoid capital gains taxes on the appreciation while receiving a charitable deduction for the securities’ fair market value.
The tax benefits of a securities gift depend on your individual circumstances, including how long you have held the assets and your tax situation. We encourage you to consult your financial or tax advisor to determine whether this giving option is right for you.
Moravian Academy maintains an account with Bank of America to facilitate the transfer of securities. To learn more about making a gift of stock or bonds, please contact the Institutional Advancement Office for transfer instructions.
  • Matching Gifts

Did you know your gift could go even further? Many employers offer matching gift programs that increase the impact of charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies even match gifts at a rate greater than dollar-for-dollar!

If your employer offers a matching gift program, you may be able to double or even triple your support for Moravian Academy at no additional cost to you.

Getting started is easy. Check with your company's Human Resources department to learn about its matching gift policy and obtain the necessary forms.

Merle-Smith Society

Celebrating generosity. Strengthening our community.

Established in 1982, the Merle-Smith Society honors Rev. Van S. Merle-Smith, Jr. and his wife, Kitty, former parents, honorary alumni, and longtime benefactors of Moravian Academy. Today, the society recognizes the generosity of those whose philanthropic support helps make the Moravian Academy experience possible.

Membership is open to parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, and friends who contribute $1,000 or more during the fiscal year. Gifts of cash or stock to the Annual Fund and/or capital programs count toward membership.

Every member plays a meaningful role in supporting Moravian Academy's students, faculty, and future. We are grateful for the generosity and commitment of the Merle-Smith Society and the lasting difference its members make in our community.
