Tuition Assistance
A Moravian Academy education requires an investment in your child’s future.
Tuition assistance at Moravian Academy is available to families with students in Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade who demonstrate financial need. Financial aid resources are reserved for families who have already exhausted all means of financing MA’s education for their child(ren). Financial need is documented annually through application via Clarity. Clarity is an independent entity that partners with independent schools to offer a secure, streamlined financial aid application that can be completed online within 20-30 minutes. The process considers family assets, income, expenses, and debts. The Clarity application requires a nominal processing fee which will be determined based on a family’s income threshold as documented in their application. We do not offer fee waivers for the Clarity financial aid application. Only one application per family is required each year. Annually updated Tuition & Fees can always be found on the Moravian Academy website. Please note that preschool and pre-kindergarten students will not be considered for financial aid.

Financial Aid Process
While Financial Aid deadlines occur in January, we encourage families applying for the 2025-2026 school year to start the process as soon as possible.
- December 15, 2024: Priority Financial Aid application deadline for current students.
- January 31, 2025: Priority Financial Aid application deadline for new students.
Step 1: Visit the Clarity Family Portal and create your account. Once you create your account, you can return to the Family Portal using the same email address and password.

Notification Timeline
Current Moravian Academy families who apply by December 15, 2024 and qualify for need-based financial aid will receive their awards on or shortly after January 27, 2025. Re-enrollment Contracts will include financial aid awards where possible.
New Families who apply by January 31, 2025 and qualify for need-based financial aid will receive their awards when they receive their admission offer. Enrollment Contracts will include financial aid awards where possible. New enrollment Contracts will be disseminated on or shortly after March 7, 2025.
Applications for financial aid submitted after the priority deadlines will be reviewed and notified on a rolling basis.
Considering whether to apply for financial aid?
An important factor in considering Moravian Academy is deciding whether your family will also apply for financial aid. In 2024-2025, the median income of new families receiving aid at Moravian Academy was $130,000 per year. In total, 42% of all Moravian Academy students (both new and returning) received financial aid, totaling over $7 million dollars. Awards are based on income, the number of children in tuition-charging schools, a family's assets, and other financial resources and responsibilities. If you are uncertain as to how your financial situation might translate into a financial aid award, we encourage you to apply. The graphic below may serve to guide your decision to apply, as it highlights the likelihood of receiving financial aid based on a family's income and the number of dependents in a tuition charging school.
THE GENERAL ENDOWMENT AND ENDOWED FUNDS
As of June 30, 2023, Moravian Academy’s overall endowment stands at $31,739,955. Endowed funds of which Moravian now has more than 135 specific funds, may be established with a minimum gift of $25,000, given at once or over a period of time. The following are funds which have reached this dollar level or which have been added to during the past year. Donors to these funds during 2022-2023 are listed with the applicable fund.
Moravian Academy students are considered for available endowed funds through the financial aid process, as all endowed funds are need-based. Students do not apply separately to receive endowed funds. You may be considered for financial aid and endowed funds by completing the Clarity application for the upcoming academic year.

JOHN DONMOYER FINANCIAL AID ENDOWMENT
Established in 2015, the John Donmoyer Financial Aid Endowment will aid children who would like to attend Moravian Academy but cannot due to a lack of finances. The funds will be raised from the proceeds of the annual John Donmoyer Memorial Tournament, which was established in 2014 (or 2015). John was District 11's all-time winningest boys basketball coach with s record of 624-423 over 40 seasons. His 1,047 varsity games coached was also a local record. In his 17 seasons as coach of Moravian Academy, John's Lions qualified for the District 11 tournament with a .500 or better record 14 times. Before his arrival, Moravian Academy only qualified for districts four times in its entire history. He coached six 1,000-point scorers at Moravian Academy. -
THE NATALIE FRY HUNT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT FUND
The Natalie Fry Hunt Financial Assistance Endowment Fund was established in 2013 by Natalie Johnson Fry Hunt, Honorary Alumna, and her family and friends at her passing. A passionate educator, Mrs. Hunt worked for Moravian Preparatory School and Moravian Academy in Bethlehem for decades (1962 through 1986) in many roles as a history teacher, alumni director, fundraiser, admission director, and guidance counselor. The fund is intended to assist the many students who must overcome financial difficulties to attend the Academy and to help preserve Natalie Fry Hunt’s memory.Mr. Albert C. Molter, Jr. ‘61P -
THE RAYMOND CRYDER ENDOWED FUND FOR MUSIC
The Raymond Cryder Endowed Fund for Music was established in 2009 by a grant from the Raymond Cryder Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation. The Fund provides financial aid for students in grades 10 through 12 who excel in choral music and who have a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Financial need is determined by the Financial Aid Committee in accordance with the Academy’s policies for awarding financial aid. Students who excel in choral music are identified from those who audition and are accepted into the Chamber Singers, the Academy’s select vocal music performing group at the Upper School. Students are individually auditioned by the Director of Music at the Upper School and the Chairman of the Fine Arts Committee.

DR. KEVIN FALLON KLINE ‘90 MORNING STAR SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Dr. Kevin Fallon Kline ‘90 Morning Star Scholarship Fund for financial assistance was established in 2021. The annual withdrawal from this fund shall be used to support financial assistance for a student on Moravian Academy’s Downtown Campus. The scholarship recipient should reflect Kevin’s characteristics which include interests in writing and music, and has an appreciation for the exceptional education offered at Moravian Academy.Funds invested in the Dr. Kevin Fallon Kline ‘90 Morning Star Scholarship Fund shall be managed by Moravian Academy's Investment Advisory Committee with the intent to preserve principal, in accordance with the spending rates recommended by the Investment Committee and approved by the Board of Trustees.Dr. James Kline & Dr. Kathleen Fallon-Kline -
THE PROFESSOR HIGGINS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FUND
Mrs. Ella Jane Kunkle, Honorary Alumna, and Mr. A. Gerry Kunkle established the Professor Higgins Financial Assistance Fund to be used for financial assistance for lower school students through a gift annuity in 2009.
