CELEBRATING THE VISION OF EVERY YOUNG ARTIST
At Moravian Academy, our spiraling arts curriculum—spanning from Preschool through Grade 12—invites students to explore drawing, painting, printmaking, fine crafts, and sculpture while deepening their understanding of the creative process.
Beyond developing technical skills, students engage in meaningful discussions of art history and culture, connect with visiting artists, and experience exhibitions both on and off campus. Art is not confined to the studio—it weaves into classrooms across disciplines, encouraging students to think critically, express themselves authentically, and approach learning with curiosity.
Throughout the year, we celebrate the creativity of our community by showcasing student artwork in exhibitions and displays, honoring both the joy of artistic expression and the excellence of our young artists.
When creating art, Moravian Academy students are encouraged to draw inspiration from artists past and present, multicultural traditions, interdisciplinary connections, their own imaginative spirit, and the world around them. Guided by the principles of design, they bring their artistic visions to life through practice with a variety of mediums.
Students explore a wide range of art-making techniques, including painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, ceramics, plaster, papier-mâché, sewing, mixed media, recycled materials, and digital tools. In gaining proficiency across these mediums, they strengthen fine motor skills, nurture creativity, and develop an appreciation for craftsmanship.
Each year, we proudly celebrate the culmination of our visual arts program with a student exhibition—an inspiring showcase of the talent, curiosity, and joyful expression that define our community.
