Innovation and an evolving forward-thinking philosophy inspire Moravian Academy, the ninth oldest independent school in the nation, to reimagine itself in creative ways that expand the possibilities of what learners can achieve.

Descending from the first school for girls founded in the American colonies by Countess Benigna Von Zinzendorf in 1742, our school cherishes tradition while embracing change. In 1971, the original Moravian Seminary for Girls merged with Moravian Preparatory School to form Moravian Academy. In 2020, Moravian again merged with The Swain School, a 20-acre island of greenery founded as a beginning school in 1929 by D. Esther Swain. At every crossroads in our school's history, we have chosen the path that best enriches the experience of the curious, creative learners we serve.

Today, students have the opportunity to learn at three distinct locations, each with signature programs designed to nurture the unique potential of every individual: The Downtown Campus in historic Bethlehem (preschool - grade 8), The Swain Campus in Allentown (preschool - grade 8), and The Merle-Smith Campus in Bethlehem Township (grades 9 -12).
