Two Perfect Scores at PJAS
On Saturday, February 22, twenty-six Historic Downtown students and eleven Swain Campus students in 7th and 8th grade showcased their independent STEM projects at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) Region 3 Meeting.
Jon Brethour '30 and Lucille Deyton '30 received perfect scores for their projects The Dropoff Rate of Round Primes and Behavioral / At What Angles From the Fixation Point are an Incoming Object and Its Color Detected? respectively!
This event marked the culmination of months of hard work as students delivered 10-minute presentations using carefully prepared slides. Their projects were evaluated on scientific thought, analytical approach, and presentation skills.
Students who received a First Award will present at the state competition at Penn State in May! Students who received a Second Award were recognized for their dedication and achievement. A huge congratulations to all the participants!
Advisors Jessica Donahue, JoAnne Daniels, and Lindsey Ronco are incredibly proud of their students' efforts and look forward to supporting them at Penn State in May. Many of these students will also be showcasing their projects at the upcoming Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Fair on March 15!
