MAX: Holiday 2024

This December, Moravian Academy's MAX: Holiday programs offer students a chance to embrace the season's creativity and curiosity with fun, hands-on classes on both the Swain and Historic Downtown campuses. From December 2 to December 20, students can attend a variety of after-school courses designed to inspire and engage, running once per week from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM. These holiday-themed activities are tailored for specific grade levels, with options like Winter Wonderland crafts, holiday science experiments, creative ornament-making, and Dungeons & Dragons storytelling.

With a range of interests covered—from the magic of flight to block-printed greeting cards—these classes provide students with a joyful, seasonal break from their routine while fostering skills in art, science, and critical thinking. Register now to give your child an opportunity to explore the season through creative expression and enriching activities, ensuring a memorable holiday season in a warm, welcoming environment.

Winter Wonderland Chocolates!
Holiday chocolate - Your explorer will unleash their creativity to craft delightful holiday chocolate treats using chocolate molds and their imagination. Your little adventurer will dive into a world of creativity, whipping up scrumptious holiday chocolate treats and a sprinkle of imagination!

Holiday Crafts
Come one, come all, as snowflakes begin to fall! We will put our crafting hearts to work making holiday crafts which can be used as decor or gifts for special people. Each week will have a different winter theme or holiday in mind, so bring your best efforts and a willingness to learn a new medium!

Winter Wonderland Holiday Games!
Holiday games - Set aside the devices and bring out the board games! From classic games like Checkers that test strategic thinking, to lively options like Charades or Pictionary that spark creativity and laughter, there's something for everyone. Playing together not only provides entertainment but also fosters a sense of community, strengthening bonds among friends. As your explorer delves into these games, they might find themselves learning new rules, strategies, and even a bit about the cultures from which these games originate. So gather around the table, roll the dice, and let the fun unfold, creating cherished memories that will last well beyond the holiday season.

Dungeons & Dragons
Want to embark on a fantastical journey? Our Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Club is for students who are eager to dive into the world of role-playing games. This after-school group invites you to explore imagination, creativity, and teamwork. Each week will feature a mix of storytelling, problem-solving, and collaborative play, allowing you to develop your role-playing skills while making new friends and having tons of fun. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or new to the world of D&D, this club offers a supportive and engaging environment where you can learn the basics, improve your game strategies, and unleash your imagination.

Holiday crafts - Your little Picasso will whip up jaw-dropping masterpieces using air-dry clay, splashes of paint, and all sorts of crafty goodies! Each child will have the opportunity to express themselves freely, learning various techniques and styles along the way. Yearbook Club
Let's make some memories! Join the Yearbook Club and make this year's HDC yearbook. You will learn how to take an idea, develop it, market it, make it, publish it, and distribute it. This is a rare opportunity to learn new skills to go through the entire process of creating a product and selling it. Mr. Pomeroy would love your help and ideas to make this yearbook the best ever!
